Made from cotton duck material and the correct Splinter-B pattern for the Luftwaffe. Features blue-gray urea buttons and firm 6mm PYRM snaps for the cuffs. Vented armpits and 2 concealed hip pockets ensre that this jacket is just like the originals.
This field division jacket was very popular with Luftwaffe field divisions and the elite Hermann Göring Division.
Jacket includes pre-stitched breast-eagle on green backing. No shoulder straps included but Splinter-B shoulder straps and Luftwaffe wool shoulder boards are available separately.
After loosing air superiority over Europe and great losses in the east, the need for more ground troops was concerning the German army. After an agreement with the Luftwaffe, Field divisions were formed from surplus personnel originally trained to service and repair aircraft and other non combat roles. Most of these divisions were under the direct command the Army, but some divisions, like the Hermann Göring Division was still under Luftwaffe command.
Issued at large from 1943 onwards. Simplified version of the Luftwaffe jump smock, indented to furnish as many men as possible from the 20 Luftwaffe field divisions.
