The Luftwaffe Aluminum Buckle in Silver features the 2nd pattern eagle, as introduced in 1937. This very lightweight buckle has the right pebbling effect all over and comes with very fine detailing.
A fine early war Luftwaffe buckle that saw extensive use throughout the war.
Luftwaffe Aluminum buckle with 1st pattern eagle is also available.
The Luftwaffe Buckle for EM/NCOs, originally in Aluminium, also suffered the fate of war-time shortages, and eventually steel was the primary component of the issued buckle from 1940 onwards. The second pattern eagle was introduced in late 1937 still using silver aluminum manufacture. The Blue-gray finish and olive finish introduced in the mid-1940 were used primarily for service use, whereas the silver one was kept for parade and going out occasions (dress wear).
