The first pattern German m40 tropical tunic was first issued to the DAK (Afrikakorps) and later to elements in the southern front. This reproduction is heavily studied from original pieces. Of particular note is the attention to detail of the top pockets. The scalloped pockets are feature of the German m40 feldbluse, but many don't get the cut right.
Available without insignia, but comes with White piping shoulder boards. We have a full range of Tropical tunic shoulder boards and Tropical Collar Litzen.
Probably the smartest and best reproduction of the tropical afrika korps uniform on the market to date.
In 1940, the Wehrmacht needed a lightweight uniform for the summer period. By 1940, the Germans needed to help out their retreating Brothers-in-arms, the Italians along the North African Campaign. The study of Tropical clothing by the Germans was very limited. Upon the study of the University of Hamburg, the Wehrmacht used results deducted from Asian tropical environments, and hence a cotton twill uniform in green was developed.
Very popular with Army personnel in the Mediterranean region and the Balkans, this tropical uniform was also extensively used the Deutches-Afrikakorps throughout the North African Campaign, from 1940-1943.
