The second pattern Fallschirmjager jump smock in the green flecked fabric is mostly associated with the Invasion of Crete. However, green jump smocks have been used everywhere the Fallschirmjager fought, including the low-lands, North Africa, Italy and Normandy.
Featuring top and bottom pockets. Step-in style and authentic green flecked fabric that repels water. Completed with factory-stitched breast eagle on the same grunmeliert fabric.
In addition, this item has elastic Internal cuffs. Armpit vents, Belt hook holes. Leather tabs for the zippers. Zig-zag stitched under the collar. snaps buttons.
The smock was meant to be baggy, in order to fit all the equipment inside. This smock is designed with the original use in mind and hence the garment is spacious. Choose your chest size if you want to wear it over the shirt, tunic, fliegerbluse, webbing and gas mask bag and retain that authentic Fallschirmjager look.
An overall garment for German paratroopers to protect lines from being entangled with equipment. After a jump, this smock was usually kept by the soldier to provide extra pockets and as a rain cover. It was many a time worn in every scenario because it gave the paratroopers the symbol of an elite unit.
This model is an improved version over the Crete Smock (2nd pattern). It is considered to be more practical, especially when nature calls.
